It was my great pleasure to present the Chief Minister’s Inclusion Award to David Williams for his work for more than 20 years with people with Down Syndrome and intellectual disabilities.
Mr Williams developed the Confident Speakers program and has mentored scores of young adults to develop their communication, confidence, thinking and motor skills to speak in public.
This year’s Life Time Achievements in Support Work Award went to David Fox for his lifelong commitment to community service.
Grace West received the Emerging Young Leader Award, a true leader and example for all young people. Ms West campaigns for people with vision impairment and is a high achieving sports woman.
This year 52 nominations were received for the Inclusion Awards which recognise and celebrate people, businesses and organizations that promote inclusion in our community.
